Focus

Kotlin Multiplatform / Compose · Swift / SwiftUI · React Native · Rust / Native bridges · REST / WebSocket / GraphQL · Client CI/CD

The role

HaikoTek is hiring for our client. You will help ship mobile and desktop clients that share logic across phones, tablets, and desktops — thin UI shells, hard work in a shared core when that pays off.

This is a six-month, hands-on contract. You will write code every week and leave the next engineer a clear path to follow.

What you will do

  • Design and implement shared cores (Kotlin Multiplatform, Rust + FFI, or a mix) behind thin UI shells
  • Ship features on Jetpack Compose, SwiftUI, React Native, and/or a desktop toolkit when the product needs it
  • Keep local data honest: SQLite, migrations, and offline-friendly habits
  • Wire clients to REST APIs; add WebSocket or similar when live updates matter
  • Work with GraphQL or provider graph APIs with clear auth, retry, and failure rules
  • Strengthen CI/CD: PR checks, multi-platform builds, release artifacts, and smoke tests
  • Pair with backend and architecture when contracts change; leave short, useful notes
  • Shape light AI features on device or through APIs when they solve a real need

Stacks you should be comfortable with

You do not need every line below at expert level. You need enough breadth to own a client platform end to end.

Mobile & desktop

Kotlin Multiplatform · Jetpack Compose · Swift / SwiftUI · React Native (including New Architecture / native bridges) · comfort with C/C++ or Qt for desktop is a plus

Shared core & data

Rust or strong systems code · C FFI / JNI / TurboModule-style bridges · SQLite and schema discipline

APIs & realtime

REST · WebSocket (or similar sockets) · GraphQL or provider graph APIs · OAuth-style auth flows

Delivery

GitHub Actions (or similar CI/CD) · Gradle / Xcode / CocoaPods or SPM · Cargo when Rust is in play · release hygiene

AI (preferred, not required)

Practical client-side or API-backed AI: on-device inference, simple assist flows, or wiring model APIs without turning the app into a science project

You will be a good fit if

  • You have shipped production mobile and/or desktop apps, not only prototypes
  • You have worked with a shared core or multi-platform setup (KMP, Rust FFI, RN native modules, or similar)
  • You are strong on CI/CD for client platforms — builds that fail fast and releases you trust
  • You integrate REST APIs cleanly and have shipped socket / realtime features
  • You have used GraphQL or a provider graph API in a real product
  • You write and speak fluent English in PRs, docs, and calls
  • You leave code and contracts clear enough for the next engineer

Nice to have

  • Practical AI on clients or via model APIs (on-device ONNX, assist features, careful privacy)
  • Deep React Native New Architecture / TurboModules experience
  • Qt or other desktop UI toolkits
  • Crypto / secure storage / biometric unlock on mobile or desktop
  • Prior contractor work with a small product team

Engagement

  • Contract · about 6 months (extension possible if both sides want it)
  • Senior / platform level · hands-on
  • Hybrid or remote with strong overlap for Vietnam / SEA daytime (ICT)
  • Hourly or day-rate, by experience — tell us what you need

How to apply

Use the application form below. Include LinkedIn and GitHub (or similar), a short note on one mobile or desktop platform you owned, your preferred rate, your start date, and confirmation that you can work in fluent English.
