Case study / Storefronts

Hum: a steadier storefront for streetwear launches

A streetwear brand with sales concentrated around launches, and the storefront work we did for them.

Short answer: Hum is a Vietnamese streetwear brand with sales concentrated around product launches. Layouts shifted while loading, and mobile checkout slowed at peak traffic. We built a new design system, removed the layout shifts, reworked the mobile checkout and built campaign and launch pages for peak traffic.

Problem

Hum sells on a hosted e-commerce platform, and its sales gather around launches. Page layouts shifted while loading, and mobile checkout slowed when traffic peaked.

Approach

We started with Fix & Stabilize, then moved to Custom Software. A new design system came first, and the layout shifts went away. We then reworked the mobile checkout and built campaign and launch pages for peak traffic.

Result

Hum has a new design system, a storefront without layout shifts, a reworked mobile checkout and launch pages made for peak traffic.

Three steps: layouts shifted and mobile checkout slowed at peak, Fix & Stabilize, then Custom Software with the design system and launch pages.
Figure 1How the engagement progressed, as described on the project page.

What changed

  • A new design system. One set of building blocks for the storefront.
  • No more layout shifts. Pages hold their shape while loading.
  • A reworked mobile checkout. Built for the moments when many people buy at once.
  • Campaign and launch pages. Built for peak traffic.

What the client received

Hum received the storefront theme and design system in its own account, launch-page templates and handover notes. The measurements are in the handover report given to the client.

Hum is named with the client's permission. Project figures stay under NDA. You can read the project page at Hum, fashion storefront.
